    An odd view of Cockatoos

I use Flickr for the feedback of other photographers and for high quality photo storage but there is this thing called “explore” where they select 500 photos from the millions uploaded per day and highlight them to all users. nobody knows how or why a photo is selected but its based on interest in a photo. This photo hit explore last week and currently has 5000 views. Full size image on Flickr below

It has been busy with commercial work for a week or two. The days are short and frankly I have been tired. Here is one from the past.

  • Beyond Your Dreams

    Beyond Your Dreams

BYD is a Chinese manufacture that is just a little bit bonkers. As long time battery makers they decided that they would build a car with their batteries. Not being car designers they thought.. “Lets employ a car designer” and who did they choose? Wolfgang Egger. Designer of Alfa Romeos, Audi, and Lamborghini.

I photography many, many cars in a week which are all very much the same. I thought I would be impressed with the Tesla but they are just a bit rubbish when you look at them closely. The BYD in many ways is more conventional but had design elements that gave me a stupid smile, and that can’t be a bad thing.

This was not a special setup, shot using a single speed light in less than ideal environment.

The farmland was once well away from the city but as the city moves closer it is protected rural land.Acting as a Market Garden the deep red soils provide Melbourne with fresh greens, cauliflowers and cabbages. This building may look like a relic of the past but it is fully in use.
